Luminescent DNA-origami nano-rods dispersed in a lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal

چکیده

Anisometric DNA nanoparticles with precisely tailored size and shape are prepared by three-dimensional folding of – origami marked a fluorescent intercalating dye (YOYO-1), stabilised silica, dispersed in lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal (an aqueous solution disodium cromoglycate). Observations total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy indicate that the luminescent stable dispersion accumulate at positions point defects director field. The observations silica-stabilisation prevents from leaking into host particles assemble disclinations.
